    Duties and Responsibilities:

    This posting is for an Sr. Analyst / Asst. Manager in the Finance Revenue Management department.

    The primary responsibility of this position will be to partner with Revenue Management teams to solve business problems using end user technologies. There will be an emphasis on project management, business process analysis, and alignment of end user technology solutions to solve business needs.

    Primary tools in our end user development environment consist of the Microsoft .Net technology platform, data and reporting tools such as WebFOCUS, Tableau, Power BI, SAS, and Alteryx, and other Mainframe support tools. Additional responsibilities may include assistance with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) utilizing UiPath to streamline business processes across the Finance department.

    Responsibilities include:

    Building collaborative relationships with key technology and business stakeholders to help drive innovation, change, and user adoption.
    Leading efforts across multiple areas to gather requirements about current processes and drive to business needs.
    Documenting functional requirements, designing and/or building tools that eliminate tedious, error-prone, or time-consuming processes and allow team members to focus on their core responsibilities.
    Supporting/delivering enhancements to existing tools and applications to help business teams effectively overcome new challenges, maximize new opportunities, and target new goals.
    Supporting alignment with existing footprint of end user solutions across multiple technology platforms (VB .Net, UIPath/RPA, WebFOCUS, SAS, SQL Server, PowerBI, Tableau, Sharepoint, etc.)
    Interacting in a fast-paced business environment, with shifting priorities, that supports both Financial and Operational stakeholders.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree is required. MBA, MIS, or other advanced degree is considered a plus.
    Proven abilities to perform problem solving, system/program analysis, and project management skills.
    Desire and ability to leverage and learn new technologies to solve complex business needs.
    Effective oral and written communication skills are required.

    Other Requirements:

    Self-motivator with strong project management and time-management skills.
    Confidence to challenge current processes and propose solutions that better utilize existing technology.
    Knowledge of BNSF’s revenue pipeline/systems from both an operations and accounting perspective.
    Demonstrated ability to manage both short-term and long-term objectives.
    Flexibility to handle daily tactical issues while staying on track with long-term strategic goals.

    Preferred:

    Experience with railroad terminology and operational processes,
    Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and creation of SQL Server Databases.
    Understanding of relational database structures such as SQL Server, DB2, or Teradata.
    Working experience with other reporting and data analysis tools such as WebFOCUS, VB and C# .Net, SAS (mainframe and mid-tier), SAP HANA, Tableau, Power BI, and Alteryx.
    Professional work experience directly supporting a business unit, such as Finance, Customer Support, Marketing, Operations, or Sourcing/Procurement.
