HR Representative - Capitol Federal Savings Bank

    Role 

    The Human Resource Representative is expected to be a conceptual thinker with fantastic organizational and conflict management skills.  The representative must have excellent negotiation and problem solving skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.  Outstanding analytical and communication skills are key.  This person should exhibit strong decision making skills with a deep understanding of employee relationships, staffing management and training.  Top candidates will be comfortable managing grey areas, effective at scheduling and methodical in the recruitment process. 

    Major Duties and Responsibilities

    •Assist with all internal and external HR related matters.

    •Participate in developing organizational guidelines and procedures.

    •Recommend strategies to motivate employees.

    •Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, conducing reference checks and issuing employment offers.

    •Investigate complaints brought forward by employees as directed.

    •Coordinate employee development plans and performance management.

    •Perform orientations and update records of new staff.

    •Manage the organization's employee database and prepare reports.

    •Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.

    •Assist with budget monitoring and payroll.

    •Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practice.

    Requirements

    •Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related

    •2 years of experience in Human Resources •Deep understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations •Efficient Human Resource administration and people management skills.

    •Excellent record keeping skills.

    •Fantastic knowledge of Human Resource functions and best practices.

    •Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    •Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.

    •Superb computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office and related HRIS software.

    •Remarkable organizational and conflict management skills •Strong decision-making and problem solving skills.

    •Meticulous attention to detail.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

    Working Conditions

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones. Able to travel by car to all areas of responsibility, including out-of-town branches and departments within the buildings.

    Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
