Recruiter - Security Benefit

    Security Benefit (SB), a leader in the retirement saving and income solutions market, seeks a Recruiter. This position will work from our Topeka, Kansas office. SB associates are working in a hybrid environment with both remote and on-site work.

    Job Summary:

    The Recruiter will identify, recruit, and screen potential employees for several business lines within the company. Will partners with managers, business leaders and HR team to ensure building a high performance organization and culture.

    Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
    • Collects and analyzes data to understand fair and competitive market salaries, candidate availability, and demand for candidates in particular fields.
    • Utilize resources to identify and select potential candidates for vacant positions.
    • Screens candidates, selects qualified and interested candidates for the interviewing phase, and then connects qualified candidates with hiring managers.
    • Checks candidates’ references and credentials, verifying experience and backgrounds.
    • Counsel’s candidates on the interview and hiring process.
    • Participates in job fairs, campus events, and other networking opportunities.
    • Maintains and ensures compliance with applicable equal employment opportunity (EEO) and related employment laws and regulations.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with aptitude in conducting interviews.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Thorough understanding of EEO, ADA, and other related employment laws and guidelines.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • A team player with strong interpersonal, communications and relationship building skills.
    • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
    • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices for hiring recruitment and employment-related matters.

    Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field required.
    • At least two years of human resources or related experience required with a strong recruiting background.
    • PHR/SPHR certification a plus.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
