    Summary

    The purpose of this position is responsible for the payroll function. This includes data entry into Paylocity and paper files of related Personnel Change forms. Provides accurate and timely payroll and benefits services to Midland Care employees. Assists employees with payroll issues, PTO issues and other applicable processes. Implements and maintains payroll and benefits changes in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. Supervised as designated on the organizational chart.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    Assists staff and supervisors with timekeeping and payroll issues to assure timely and accurate completion of payroll processing.
    Educates staff and supervisors in use of timekeeping software.
    Service

    Assures benefits deductions flow into payroll software accurately.
    Manages both internal and external customer relationships to ensure that discrepancies, exceptions, disputes and questions are resolved promptly as they relate to payroll and benefit processing.
    Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality, seamless customer service.
    Performs other duties as assigned.
    Collects, enters, tracks, reports, and files required information for HRIS maintenance.
    Provides on-going, timely reminders to supervisors and employees.
    Provides payroll reports as needed.
    Assists in other areas of the Midland organization as may be needed.
    Quality

    Ensures that all information provided to customers (employees, supervisors, managers, and applicants) is accurate and timely.
    Ensures that payroll and benefits are processed in an accurate and timely manner.
    Maintains payroll and benefits files electronically as well as on paper.
    Collects, tracks, reports and files required paperwork/information for payroll and benefit maintenance.
    Growth

    Completes annual mandatory education requirements.
    Serves on committees as assigned.
    Utilizes evolving technology as assigned.
    Stays abreast of changes in payroll laws and benefits as they impact the organization.
    Finance

    Utilizes company resources in a prudent and appropriate manner. Is a good steward of company resources.
    Processes payroll in accordance with identified pay periods and pay date schedules.
    Tracks payroll deductions pertaining to employee benefits (life, health, dental, vision, disability).
    Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, holiday pay, PTO used, bereavement, from time sheets and other records.
    Records changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, mileage reimbursement and other miscellaneous deductions for each employee.
    Prepares and issues manual payroll checks as needed.
    Prepares other reports as requested.

    Qualifications

    Required: Exceptional clerical skills, attention to details and knowledge of computer systems is required. Organizational skills and self-directed team functioning is essential. Must possess a valid Kansas Driver’s License, in force automobile liability insurance and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets organization’s insurability standard as defined by Midland policy.

    Preferred: 2 years of experience with payroll and/or benefits, and HRIS systems.
