HR Manager - Midway Wholesale

    Established in 1970, Midway Wholesale is a distributor of building products, including commercial and residential roofing, siding, masonry, and exterior doors and windows. With ten locations and 170 employees across Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska, Midway Wholesale has the informal atmosphere of a small business, with the benefits of a large company.     Responsibilities

    •             Oversees recruiting and new employee orientation

    •             Responsible for Employee Handbook policies, suggesting updates as needed

    •             Assists with Midway’s safety program, with the help of Midway’s safety consultant, overseeing OSHA accident reporting and log compliance

    •             Serves as the Designated Employer Representative for Midway’s DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program, working with Midway’s TPA

    •             Administers government-mandated regulations, benefits, and programs, such as Worker’s Compensation, Unemployment, EEOC reporting, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, etc.

    •             Administers health benefits, oversees open enrollment, and produces total compensation statements, with the assistance of Midway’s broker

    •             Assists with day-to-day administration of retirement benefits

    •             Serves as vendor relationship manager

    •             Reconciles monthly benefits invoices

    •             Produces monthly overtime reporting

    •             Maintains records such as personnel files, Forms I-9, etc.

    •             Writes the monthly company newsletter

    •             Assists accounting with collecting data for annual reporting, such as 1095c, balancing merchant charges, etc.

    •             Serves as back-up for daily deposits and other accounting needs.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. 3-5 years of progressive experience in human resources is preferred. Human Resources certifications are helpful, but not required.

    Travel

    Travel is negligible for 95% of the year. The Open Enrollment period may involve travel, possibly including overnight travel.
