HR Manager
KBS Constructors is recruiting for a full-time Human Resources Manager. This position handles multiple areas of HR including employee relations, recruiting, performance management, and training and development. The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills, strong knowledge of HR best practices, and the ability to perform operational and strategic functions.
Responsibilities
Researches, develops and/or updates employee–related programs and policies in accordance with project and/or corporate goals.
Partners with employees and management to communicate and train Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, best practices, standards, and government regulations.
Updates company policy and employee handbooks for annual distribution.
Assists with safety policies, training, and compliance.
Coordinates “All Company” and leadership training.
Organizes and tracks employee certifications and training and owner required certifications.
Conducts recruiting process in coordination with hiring manager by posting positions, reviewing applicants, conducting interviews, and overseeing the completion of pre-screening requirements.
Conducts background screenings (new hire, annual, random and owner required).
Facilitates the onboarding process and conducts new hire orientation.
Assists management with employee development initiatives, including development and delivery of training materials, to promote strong employee satisfaction and retention.
Oversees performance review process.
Develops and/or updates company job descriptions.
Maintains HR and employee records.
Responds to employee relations issues, including employee complaints and harassment allegations.
Assists with and provides advisory support to management relating to coaching, disciplinary action, and terminations.
Represents management in investigating, answering, and settling grievances.
Conducts exit interviews, analyzing data and making recommendations to management for corrective action and continuous improvement.
Responds to employment related inquires, including reference checks, verification of employment, and unemployment claims.
Assists with ensuring compliance with union contracts and reporting.
Assists with workers compensation claims process.
Assists with Benefit Administration including employee coverage, claims and compliance.
Facilitates wage and benefits analysis.
Assists with KBS 401k program.
Serves as member of compensation committee, training committee, safety committee and other internal and external committees as required.
Maintains a positive working relationship with all employees while adhering to Federal and State employment laws and regulations.
Serves as backup for payroll processing.
Assists with Accounting and Administrative tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience
BS degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
3-5 years of HR experience with experience within the construction industry preferred.
PHR and/or SHRM-CP preferred.
Valid driver's license is required.
