Position Summary:
The position (K0244699) Assists Agency by serving as liaison between supervisor and temporary contract vendor. Work with temporary contract vendor and supervisors on the candidate selection to ensure timely and appropriate selections of temporary staff. As part of the onboarding process the incumbent confirms the recruiting supervisor has completed the necessary IT requests to ensure KDHE IT has adequate information to set up temporary equipment and create computer access. Incumbent will track the temporary vendor through the KDHE’s personnel management system (MyOPS).
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Works with recruiting supervisors to generate meaningful and descriptive screening criteria and interview questions. The incumbent posts and advertises open positions on the State of Kansas website and any other approved recruitment site to generate the maximum number of candidates possible. When necessary the incumbent may go to career fairs to promote DPH positions. Incumbent works with the HR staff to verify applicants are uploaded into KDHE's personnel management system (MyOPS) then assists the recruiting supervisor with screening applicants to determine top qualified candidates. As necessary the incumbent participates in the interviewing process of candidates. Once complete the incumbent works with the SR Generalist/Recruiting Manager to determine appropriate salary level and extends an offer to the candidate.
Qualifications
Education:
High School, GED
Licensing & Certification:
Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.
Minimum Qualifications:
One year experience in planning, directing, organizing, managing or administering personnel or Human Resources functions. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Preferred Qualifications:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
Proofreading, editing, attention to detail
Knowledge of State employment process and/or experience recruiting
Experience in advising job applicants and employees of application/employment process
Experience performing personnel related issues
Excellent time management skills
Strong employee relations and interpersonal skills
