Human Resource Specialist - Capitol Federal

    Capitol Federal is seeking a highly driven individual to add to our Human Resources team! As a Human Resource Specialist, you will support and implement a recruiting strategy that maximizes the effectiveness of placements of positions in a timely manner. Your primary job function is to match qualified candidates to a variety of job openings.

    What you will be doing:

    • Provide prompt and consistent communication to applicants and hiring managers.
    • Create and maintain a talent pipeline with a concentration on attracting and retaining quality.
    • Coordinate the full process from scheduling interviews to onboarding new employees.
    • Responsible for coordination and general administration of the internship program. Collaborate and work with local schools to promote internships.
    • Travel in-state to attend and participate in fairs and additional events to promote internships and recruitment for positions at the bank.
    • Schedule, promote and host recruitment events.
    • Provides administrative support such as reviewing reports from HRIS system to ensure accuracy in employee changes.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.

    Skills we are looking for:

    • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate and work with people of varied backgrounds and levels of experience.
    • Analytical thinker and problem solver.
    • Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products.
    • Basic knowledge of employment laws such as, but not limited to FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, EEOC, FLSA and other federal, state and local laws.

    Your Qualifications:

    • A minimum of one year up to three years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
    • A high school degree or equivalent.
