    Security Benefit is seeking an HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. Security Benefit has been dedicated to helping clients plan and save for retirement for nearly five decades.     General Accountabilities:
    As an integral part of the Human Resources Department, the HR Generalist will support the business in the areas of employee relations, recruiting and onboarding. This position reports directly to the VP Head of Human Capital.

    Duties and responsibilities:
    • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
    • Conducts employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
    • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
    • May represent the company at recruiting events and participate in college job fairs.
    • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
    • May conduct new hire orientation and oversee employee recognition programs.
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
    • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale.
    • Performs other duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the department.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.

    Education and Experience:
    • 5+ years of progressive experience as a Human Resources Generalist
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
    • Two years recruitment and hiring experience preferred
    • SHRM-CP a plus

    Physical Requirements:
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
    • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organizations facilities.
