Our November meeting will include a presentation from Kansas Children's Service League along with a celebration of SHRM Topeka's 40th Anniversay and Member Appreciation!

Presentation Topic: Strengthening Workplace Culture to Support Families

Businesses and organizations that actively promote and implement dynamic practices to support employees and families have a competitive advantage to attract and retain skilled workers. Creating workplace environments that support Kansas families results in increased productivity, improved retention, and resilient, happier, and healthier employees. This presentation will address the trends of “quiet quitting, the great resignation, and the great realignment” and provide examples of actions that can be taken based on the results of businesses that have participated in the Kansas family-friendly workplace survey project.

Gail Cozadd has been employed with Kansas Children’s Service League for 17 and currently serves as the CEO of the agency. Prior to becoming the CEO on January 1, 2020, she served as the Director for Children and Family Services. She graduated with her Bachelor’s of Social Work in 1996 from KU; and has been in the field of children and family services since that time. She worked for Social and Rehabilitation Services for nine years, where she investigated child abuse and neglect, with an emphasis on cases of severe physical and sexual abuse. In 2002 she completed her Master’s Degree in Social Work Administration. This emphasized program development, continuous quality improvement, human resource management, social service budgeting, and social policy. Since that time has held a variety of administrative positions, all with an emphasis on improving outcomes for children and families in the state of Kansas.

Dana Book a Training Specialist with the Kansas Children’s Service League.
