Topic: More Than a Seat at the Table - The True Impact of Meaningful Employment
Arcare, Inc was founded over 35 years ago with the mission and vision to provide caring, planned, professional support to individuals with disabilities and their families. As part of this mission, our organization collaborates with other agencies in Kansas to advocate for initiatives and solutions to benefit individuals and families affected by disability. Together we will discuss efforts to access meaningful employment for individuals with disabilities, and the impact that meaningful employment has on their lives.
About the speaker: Laura Pederzani is the Community Outreach Specialist for Arcare, Inc. Arcare, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation offering Life Care Planning and Financial Services to individuals with disabilities and their families. After graduating from Washburn University, Laura spent 6 years working as a paralegal and specialized in Estate Planning, Special Needs Trusts and Elder Law. Her desire to serve elders, individuals with special needs and their families took her to the nonprofit sector in 2019, where she has excelled as a grant writer, researcher and outreach specialist.
