Speaker: Karen Vines
Before joining HUB International, Vines served as Vice President for a regional brokerage where her responsibilities included benefits compliance and market leadership. She established herself as a leading adviser on PPACA through her development and leadership of a formal benefits compliance practice. Her 34 year career as a Benefit professional includes 15 years in sales and management with BCBS of KS.
Vines has regularly engaged in speaking opportunities at the local, regional, and national levels due to her comprehensive understanding of the of the health care reform law as well as other regulations applicable to health & welfare plans. Vines is a Certified PPACA Specialist.
In 2014, Vines was recognized by Business Insurance Magazine as a 2014 Women to Watch honoree and in 2015 as a Wichita Business Journal Women In Business honoree.
Topic Description:
IRS Cafeteria Plan rules give employees greater control over their benefits package selections, while providing certain tax advantages. While being an integral part of the employee benefit offering, cafeteria plan regulations can be somewhat complex. New rules and allowances emerged as COVID-19 spread to the U.S. creating an unexpected course nuanced with its set of complexities. This presentation will provide a translation of complex regulations into understandable language.
