Employee Relations Specialist - Stormont Vail Health

    Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for the delivery of employee relations governance and consulting services to Stormont Vail leadership and team members regarding a policies, best practices, conflict resolution, investigation and a wide range of organizational programs.

    Essential Job Duties

    - Promptly conducts thorough and comprehensive workplace investigations including interviewing, applying policy correctly, preparing complete written summary of findings, recommending next steps and providing follow-up to all parties. Investigations will include employment-related matters including discrimination under Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act (ADAAA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), EEOC claims, sensitive workplace investigations, etc. Thorough documents employee conversations in the electronic Ethicspoint systems ensuring all necessary and relevant information is present, responding appropriately to inquiries, identifying any concerning trends, maintaining complete confidentiality and report up to ER leadership with risky situations.
    - Thoroughly reviews all electronic termination notices completed by SVH leadership, identifies opportunity for retention, applies policy correctly, evaluates risk and identifies termination trends within workgroups using available data such as turnover and exit interviews.
    - Facilitates electronic and manual functions for employee life cycle and retention functions, which include evaluating staff vacancy, turnover and retention. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding after thoroughly reviewing data. Able to identify trends, explores different ways of measuring data, investigates opportunities to retain staff and reports findings to HR leadership. Works with department director and SVH leadership in developing action plans to address improvement areas. Also includes leading engagement survey functions, which could include hierarchy review, planning, implementation, data analysis, and workgroup action planning and information delivery. May present data and information in professional forums.
    - Facilitates conflict resolution requests with leadership and staff using appropriate techniques and applying policy appropriately. Provides direction to leadership on appropriate coaching and corrective action improvement plans, if applicable. Must be able to understand and appropriately apply any legal precedent, SVH action and/or regulation fairly and equitably.
    - Collaborates with organizational-wide leaders to provide coaching opportunities with performance management, HR policy, guidance on employee issues and general other questions within their scope.
    - Complies with all policies, standards, mandatory training and requirements of Stormont Vail Health
    - Performs other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    - Bachelor's Degree Human Resource Management or a related area. (Required)
    - 3 years Human Resources Experience. (Required)
    - Experience working with applicable labor/work laws and regulations. (Preferred)
    - Experience in healthcare systems. (Preferred)
    - Professional in Human Resources - HRCI Equivalent SHRM or other HR accreditation accepted. (Preferred)
