Staff Development Specialist - KDOT

    The Staff Development Specialist position is located in Topeka, KS at the Eisenhower State Office Building and is within the Bureau of Human Resources.  This position provides organizational and staff development services and training for the Kansas Department of Transportation and its employees.

    Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

    Develops, coordinates, conducts and delivers performance based training programs that are aligned with the agency's strategic goals and objectives.  Examples of training programs include all levels of Microsfot Office Products, Crystal reports, Adobe, Power Bi and other applications rovided to KDOT as well as cross training on team buildings.  Training is delivered to KDOT employees as well as other State Agencies, City, County and KDOT partners.  

    Works with agency employees to asssist with registering for classes and identifying training classes that would benefit them of their employees.

    Develops online training curriculum content for KDOT employees that are aligned with KDOT's strategic goals and objectives.

    Performs activities in support of KDOT's Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) efforst such as contacting process improvement teams about their project status, helping to develop business processes, monitoring progrtess and conducting research projects. 

    Participates in professional development activities that are aligned with individual employee development plans to improve skills and competencies needed to be an effective trainer, developer and internal consultant.
