    Job Description:
    The City of Topeka is seeking a dynamic individual to serve on its executive leadership team as its Human Resources Director. This position originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce at the City of Topeka.

    What you’ll do:

    Serve as a member of the City’s executive leadership team.
    Oversee employee relations programs that contribute to employee morale and ensure the City is an employer of choice.
    Develop innovative employee development and training programs that result in workforce readiness.

    Minimum qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in human resources, public administration, business administration, organizational leadership, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
    Five years of human resource management experience required and three years of labor relations experience in a union environment.
    SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is highly preferred. Additional licenses or certifications may be required.
    Must possess and maintain a valid Kansas Driver’s License and be insurable within the standards of the City of Topeka insurance carrier.

    Entry Annual Salary: up to $165,596 DOQ
