    Overview:
    Family Service & Guidance Center, one of the Midwest’s leaders and an innovator in children’s mental health care, has an exciting new opportunity available. The Director of Human Resources will be an integral and hands-on professional in a fast-paced environment who provides a broad range of HR objectives and strategic initiatives in support of our mission.

    Job Details:
    Provide a broad range of HR assignments including oversight of the recruitment and employment process, employee relations, performance management, benefits, payroll administration and lead the selection of an HRIS. Effectively collaborate with other members of the Leadership Team and organizational hiring managers. 

    • Oversee and manage talent recruitment necessary to support the workforce needs of the organization. Use of progressive approaches such as social media, external partnerships, career fairs and other means to develop a long-range talent pipeline.
    • Oversight of pre-employment processes including background checks, drug screens, etc.
    • Employee relations and performance management including connecting with staff and hiring managers to affect a positive culture through coaching, training, and evaluation of performance that lead to retention and employee satisfaction.
    • Process and/or oversee employee transactions for new hires, transfers, terminations.
    • Administer workers compensation, unemployment claims, and leave administration.
    • Monitor and ensure compliance of human resource related regulatory requirements to mitigate legal risks and ensure compliance. 
    • Participate in benefit design that appeals to the targeted talent pool. Benefit plan administration. 
    • Administer wage and salary plan including FLSA compliance. Analyze and recommend changes as necessary. 
    • Review, recommend and lead implementation of an HRIS system. 
    • Manage and lead agency HR team. 
    • Participate and/or lead other agency initiatives (i.e. employee wellness, supervisor training, new employee orientation, audit compliance, etc.) 


    Qualifications:
    Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or closely related field. At least 5 years of progressive HR experience and at least 2 years supervisory required. PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred. Prior experience with HRIS software evaluation, recommendation and implementation preferred. Demonstrated track record of honesty and integrity. Knowledge of employment law. Willingness to travel as necessary.
