    We provide a central location for employers and employees to find administrative programs concerning the workplace. We are committed to providing quality, accessible, and responsive services to all Kansans.

    Our services:

    Labor Market Information Services (LMIS)

    • Publishes data related to all facets of the labor market, including labor conditions, employment and unemployment statistics and wage and career information
    • Creates, analyzes, and presents specialized data reports for a minimal fee

    Unemployment

    • Collects state unemployment insurance taxes from employers
    • Pays unemployment benefits to eligible individuals
    • Hears benefit appeals

    Workers Compensation

    • Receives workplace accident reports, advises claimants of their rights, conducts hearings on contested matters and negotiates settlements

    Industrial Safety and Health

    • Provides free safety and health hazard consultations for private sector employers
    • Works with the public sector to identify and correct occupational safety hazards
    • Conducts boiler pressure vessel inspections

    Employment Standards

    • Responsible for enforcing state labor laws, including child labor, wage payment and minimum wage laws
