    Staff Development Specialist

    Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) is hiring for a full-time Staff Development Specialist within the Bureau of Human Resources.
    This position is the primary developer of KDOT’s online courses which provide organizational and staff development services for the Agency’s employees. This position also carries out statewide responsibility for assistance in the KDOT Learning Management System (LMS), which provides a variety of functions designed to serve the training and development needs of the Agency as well as our partners.

    This position requires up to 10% overnight travel.

    Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
    • Develops, coordinates, and conducts performance-based training programs aligned with KDOT’s strategic objectives.
    • Provides Learning Management System (LMS) training and ongoing education for Learners, Managers, Training Administrators, and Instructors at KDOT and KSU.
    • Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather information, design storyboards, and review online training content.
    • Designs and develops ILT curriculum by researching and organizing relevant content.
    • Participates in professional development activities aligned with individual development plans to enhance skills as a trainer, developer, and internal consultant.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Two years of experience in developing and delivering training materials and presentations. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered. Valid Driver’s License at time of appointment.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Advance knowledge and skills with Lectora Development Tool. Advanced written and communication skills. Database Administration, Data Analysis, Report Building, SHaRP Payroll Data. One year using online training development tool. One year of experience
    working with a Learning Management System.
