    Capitol Federal is hiring a Payroll Specialist in the Human Resources Department. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for all aspects of payroll processing through our HRIS system, from timecard processing through the GL accounting process. Responsibility will include bi-weekly payroll processing in a multi-state environment, processing of supplemental pay such as bonuses, stock option exercises, research and resolve federal, state, and local tax notices.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    Processes bi-weekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt personnel in a multi-state environment.
    Audit and balance payroll prior to posting. Ensure proper documentation is present/retained. Processes reports to analyze payroll data for integrity. Maintains SOX compliance.
    Assist employees with questions about their wages, taxes and/or deductions maintaining state and federal compliance.
    Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local jurisdiction payroll regulations and guidelines.
    Prepare recurring and ad-hoc reports as needed.
    Responsible for the maintenance of the Payroll Process in the Disaster Recovery Center.
    Provide support to Human Resources on topics related to benefits, payroll, time and attendance, record keeping and HR & Bank policies and procedures.


    What Capitol Federal Looks For:

    A high school degree or equivalent.
    Previous experience processing payroll within HRIS System.
    A high level of computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and payroll systems. Workday or similar system.
    Basic knowledge of compensation, benefits and tax regulations concerning payroll.
    Attention to detail.
