About the speaker:
Trina Goss joined the Greater Topeka Partnership in January 2020 as the executive assistant for the president of GO Topeka and the GO Topeka team, and was later promoted to also support the CEO of the GTP as the senior executive assistant. In this role she quickly learned about all of the goals and strategies of the Partnership and developed a strong passion for the growth of the Shawnee County community. Trina was named the Director of Business and Talent Initiatives in September 2021, where she currently serves under GO Topeka, supporting and developing area workforce initiatives.
Trina brings more than 20 years of business management and administration experience to her current role. Before joining the Partnership, she worked for several years in retail management, at one time managing a location with 50 employees and annual sales of close to $10 million. She also served as the district trainer for efficient processes and procedures. Trina later moved into a role leading the administrative team of an accounting firm, where part of her focus was on developing cross-training opportunities for the staff, acting as “champion” for new software programs provided by the corporate office, and conducting new hire orientation and on-boarding for new team members.
Trina currently serves on the Heartland Works and Junior Achievement board of directors, the
Washburn Tech East Advisory Council, the KU School of Business Advisory Council, and the Washburn Career Services Advisory Committee.
Trina lives in Topeka with her teenage daughter, Emma. In her free time she enjoys reading, hiking, kayaking, traveling, and exploring all our great community has to offer.
