Job Title: HR Analyst - Benefit Administration
Starting Salary: $59,240 - $65,164 Annually
Responsibilities: The Benefits Analyst will focus on the administration of employee benefit, wellness, and retirement programs to include self-funded health and dental plans, retirement programs (KPERS, KP&F and 457 Plan), Wellness program, EAP, life insurance, long-term disability and Section 125 plans. Key responsibilities of this position include reviewing, analyzing, developing, and administering benefit programs, determining appropriateness and effectiveness of programs for staff and the organization, managing internal benefits software programs, and designing an effective funding structure to ensure maximum health care coverage in a cost-effective manner. Incumbent will also conduct informational meetings to include Open Enrollment and assists employees with program, policy and procedure questions throughout the organization. This position is responsible for completing and maintaining all documentation, reports, applications and purchases for benefit programs; coordinate effo rts with the compensation and payroll functions regularly.
Qualifications: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with major course work in Human Resources, Finance, Business, Public Administration, or a closely related field. A Master’s degree in a related field or advanced certification in benefits administration preferred. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of Human Resources experience with a strong emphasis in benefit program administration. This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to educate using available mediums in one-on-one as well as group training sessions. Practical office procedures and advanced MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point) skills are required. Must have a valid driver’s license. The successful candidate must also pass the post-offer City physical and drug screen.
