    SUMMARY:
    The Employment Manager is responsible for initiating effective recruiting, screening, selection, and hiring procedures that attract the best candidates and enhances employee retention. This position oversees the Human Resources information systems used to provide management information on staffing. The Employment Manager additionally is responsible for updating and maintaining the organization-wide compensation structure and staffing plan.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manages the organization’s recruiting processes, policies and procedures for recruitment, selection, job placement, and limited and specific pre-employment testing in partnership with HR business partners. 
    • Manages the Social Media employment strategy and onboarding processes to maximize retention, education and communication. 
    • Along with the Employment Specialist, coordinates changes to position descriptions and implements changes to the organizational structure.
    • Partners with management and HR staff to assess internal and external environment and plan staffing requirements to meet business needs. 
    • Develops and supports recruitment staff and resources assigned to support the organization’s recruitment plan.
    • Promotes retention of top talent within the property in accordance with company plans.
    • Ensures compliance with all applicable tribal, state, and federal employment related laws, statutes, and regulations. 
    • Regularly confers with the Director of Human Resources to review achievements and to discuss needed changes in goals, objectives and/or department direction resulting from current or projected future status or conditions.
    • Oversees the maintenance and updating of property position descriptions.
    • Assists the Director of Human Resources in ensuring wages are set correctly, and the organizational chart reflects current reporting relationships and responsibilities.
    • Develops and participates in special projects and completes other duties as requested or assigned.
    • Oversees the Human Resources Information System. 
    • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
    •  Answers all manager or employee requests promptly and professionally.
    • Maintains an exceptional personal appearance and behavior, reflecting the image of the Property and the Human Resources Department.
    • Ensures Director is aware of and advised of the status of any outstanding Human Resources issues and projects. 
    • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include maintaining sufficient staffing levels; interviewing, hiring, and training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Team Members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.



    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
    Required

    • Five years of Human Resources management experience with one year administration experience
    • Bachelors’ degree Human Resources, Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An additional 5+ years of gaming experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
    • A record of satisfactory performance and reliability in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.
    • Strong supervisory and management skills.
    • The ability to maintain an established work schedule that provides management oversight of team members, and on-call assistance, including nights, weekends and holidays.
    • Effective use of organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and internet software.
    • Computer-related problem-solving skills through the use of available trainings and help desk.


    Preferred

    • PHR or SPHR certified


    PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

    • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino and be able lift up to 25 pounds and carry up to 10 pounds
    • Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned desk
    • Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including phones, personal computers, fax machines, and photocopiers
    • Must be able to work at a fast pace in stressful situations and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
